Philosophy Of Mindfulness
When we work together I provide support, knowledge, experience and the necessary tools to help you through the process as gently and sympathetically as possible. But the focus is on you. You determine the pace. Also, you must feel able to take whatever steps seem right and congruous to you at any given moment.
This is the philosophy of mindfulness: “to be aware” (refers to paying attention to and being present in the moment, also to self awareness).

Life was a misery for me at the age of 14-17. I often felt that everything I did in this world was wrong… My life had to be perfect and if it wasn’t I would of thrown tantrums… I felt at one stage that my life was meaningless and I was an absolute failure… Christina provided understanding and progressively gave me the means to my own empowerment, to make a change in my own life. Thank you Christina (17 yr girl)“
Mindfulness is a holistic attitude: it relates to you as a person, your life story and your unfinished business – your ‘incomplete gestalts’ (please visit the Gestalt page for a full explanation).
The connection between ‘I’ and ‘thou/you’ is of crucial importance. In my counselling practice, we relate as two people of equal standing. And as your counsellor I also give of myself because my life, like yours has been shaped by many easy and not-so-easy steps. In other words I do not offer a cold, blank-canvas approach. Rather, I share with you images that occur to me or experiences from my own life which seem to fit the situation. The aim is to bring closure to your incomplete gestalt, enriching your own self awareness.
